Ali Assam was born in Baghdad in 1950, and graduated from Cardiff University in 1972 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  He obtained an MSc in Applied Nuclear Physics and a PhD in Magnetic Domains.  In 1979 he started 4 years' research work at Imperial College, London on construction of optical fibre switching devices.

Ali Assam is currently Managing Director of KnowledgeView Ltd, a leader in news publishing systems with more than 40 media companies and 4000 journalists using Publish live software and services.
KnowledgeView’s headquarters in London with offices in Beirut, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
