The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority, otherwise known as CYTA, is a public utility organisation established by Law to provide national and international telecommunications in the Republic of Cyprus. CYTA, currently employing approximately 2500 people, provides a variety of advanced telecommunications products and services, covering fixed and mobile voice and data communications, value added services, such as various internet-based multimedia services, video-on-demand, and a lot more.

CytaGlobal, the International Commercial Services Division of CYTA, is the co-owner of an extensive fibre optic cable network spanning the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and Black Sea that delivers unrivalled performance and the flexibility of synchronous digital transmission. In co-operation with neighbouring countries, CytaGlobal has developed an extensive submarine fibre optic cable network employing state-of-the-art technology and full restoration to connect Cyprus with other countries and international networks beyond. The following cable systems currently in service land in Cyprus: APHRODITE-2, CIOS, CADMOS, UGARIT, SEA-ME-WE 3 and MED NAUTILUS. In addition, CytaGlobal co-owns and leases capacity in many other major regional and global cable systems such as AC-1, ARIANE-2, BARMAR, BSFOCS, COLUMBUS III, ODIN, RIOJA, SAT-3, TAT 12-13 and TAT-14.

Furthermore, as an initial party of INTELSAT, EUTELSAT, INMARSAT and NEW SKIES and having access to many major satellite systems, CytaGlobal makes available an equally impressive satellite telecommunications network boasting enhanced, high quality international connectivity.
