Ms. Samia Melhem
Sr.Operations Officer InfoDev. Global ICT

Samia Melhem is a Senior Operations Officer at InfoDev, the ICT4D Grant Facility arm of the World Bank group 's Global ICT department in the Infrastructure Vice Presidency. Her current responsibilities include improving workflow and processes in the unit, oversight of internal coordination, interaction with WBG and donors, team learning and staff skills' update as well as overall quality control of the program's content, processes and outcomes.
Her experience is on ICT for development, in a wide variety of sectors from Telecoms Policy and regulation, to Education, Knowledge Economy, Public Sector reform and private sector development. In her last 15 years in the WBG, Samia has held several positions in the WBG. I
n her last assignment she coordinated the MNA region's portfolio in ICT4D, Telecoms Reform and private sector development for the ICT sector. 

She holds degrees in Electrical engineering (BSEE), Computer sciences (MS) and had training on management sciences, finance, procurement and organizational development. 
Country experience includes  MNA countries (projects in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon), East and Central Asia,  West Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar and Philippines.
