BIOGRAPHY Dr. Amer Hassan Architect Dr. Amer Hassan received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Systems from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in December 1988. His research activities are focused on the areas of wireless communications (Wi-Fi, GPRS/UMTS, and UWB) and error control coding. Since then, Amer worked at Ericsson Mobile R&D in North Carolina as a technical manager for emerging systems, and he was an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University where he taught Digital Communications and Error Control Coding. Amer joined Microsoft as a Wireless Architect in June 2000 as part of Windows Networking and Communications. Dr Hassan represents Microsoft at the Wi-Fi Alliance Board. He is presently an Adjunct Professor at University of Washington in Seattle
