BIOGRAPHY Mr. Samer Halawi Regional Director Samer Halawi joined Inmarsat, the Total Communications Network™ in 2001, with a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry and is responsible for the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia operations. Since joining Inmarsat, Samer has managed the continued evolution of the Inmarsat business to one that today offers an integrated portfolio of voice, low and high-speed data services to enterprises operating around the world, at every latitude, longitude & altitude. Samer is charged with the development and support of a network of over 120 regional partners, regional implementation of Inmarsat's core initiatives and delivery of Inmarsat's reliable high speed data solutions. Key to this role has been the introduction of Inmarsat's Regional BGAN service - a lightweight mobile IP-based solution which allows businessmen to connect to the Internet or corporate networks, from anywhere within the satellite footprint of approximately a third of the world. Before joining Inmarsat, Samer held from 1992 to 1999 numerous other management positions at large organizations including Flag Telecom, ICO Global Communications, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler Corporation and Lebanon Invest. Samer holds a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University.
